Equatorial Guinea is stepping into the regulated iGaming arena with a bold move that could reshape the African gaming landscape.
The government has awarded its first Online Gaming Master Licence to Mascott Capital Partners, a Cyprus-based firm, marking the launch of a fully regulated framework for online casinos, betting, and gaming. This framework will provide international operators with a new licensing jurisdiction, backed by strong compliance, AML protocols, and age verification requirements.
Issued under Law 2/1995 and updated tax reforms in Law 10/2017, this move is part of the country’s broader digital development and economic diversification strategy. The regulatory gateway, facilitated entirely by Mascott’s digital platform, ensures that licensing, monitoring, and compliance are streamlined and transparent.
Equatorial Guinea now positions itself alongside jurisdictions like Curaçao and Anjouan, offering a credible alternative for global operators expanding into Africa.
