FanDuel has strengthened its Responsible Gaming leadership by appointing Keith Whyte, the former executive director of the National Council on Problem Gambling, as its new strategic advisor. Whyte’s appointment underscores FanDuel’s commitment to advancing responsible play at a time when the company continues to expand its footprint across the United States.
Whyte brings over 25 years of experience in Responsible Gaming, advocacy, and policy development. During his tenure at the NCPG, he helped shape national discussions on prevention, player protection, and the regulation of emerging gambling products. Since leaving the council in January, Whyte has been consulting through his firm, Safer Gambling Strategies.
At FanDuel, Whyte will advise on Responsible Gaming strategies and programmes, identify opportunities for new partnerships, and lead initiatives that encourage safe play. He will also contribute to the company’s Conversations About Betting programme, an educational campaign developed with EPIC Global Solutions and industry ambassadors to raise awareness among young audiences.
The hire reflects FanDuel’s recognition of the importance of Responsible Gaming as it faces intensifying competition in the US market. Recent expansions, including a prediction market partnership with the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and a peer-to-peer fantasy sports launch, highlight the need to balance innovation with strong safeguards.
According to Cory Fox, FanDuel’s senior vice president of public policy and sustainability, Whyte’s expertise will help elevate the company’s Responsible Gaming standards and strengthen its position as an industry leader.
Keith Whyte expressed enthusiasm about the role, noting his eagerness to apply decades of experience to advancing safe and responsible play within the rapidly evolving iGaming landscape.
With this appointment, FanDuel reinforces its dual focus on market leadership and player protection, sending a strong signal to the wider industry.
