The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (PAGCOR) has partnered with the Ad Standards Council (ASC) to strengthen regulations surrounding gambling advertising. This collaboration marks a significant step in ensuring that gambling promotions are responsible, transparent, and mindful of their impact on vulnerable groups, especially youth.
As part of this initiative, gambling ads—whether on TV, radio, online platforms, or outdoor billboards—must now undergo mandatory screening and approval before they go public. This heightened scrutiny will curb misleading content and help reduce gambling harm, protecting the Filipino public from deceptive practices.
In addition, all gambling-related advertisements on public transportation will be removed by August 15, 2025. This step demonstrates PAGCOR’s commitment to reducing the pervasiveness of gambling ads and promoting a healthier gambling environment.
With this move, the Philippines is setting a new standard for responsible gambling advertising, ensuring that all promotional material adheres to strict ethical guidelines.
