Tomáš Pondělík, Chief Product Officer at Livesport Group, has outlined the company’s growing influence in global sports data, its role in shaping user trust in regulated markets, and the latest innovations from its flagship product Flashscore.
With over 100 million monthly users, 180+ million app downloads, and operations spanning 50+ countries, Flashscore has established itself as the world’s leading live sports information provider. The platform delivers scores and data from 38 sports across 70+ websites, transforming its massive global reach into measurable success for affiliate partners while maintaining its reputation as the most trusted name in sports data.
Regulatory Authority and the Brazil Market
During the interview, Pondělík highlighted how Flashscore acts as an authority for sports fans navigating regulated betting markets. In Brazil, where new regulations reshaped the betting landscape earlier this year, Flashscore proactively educated users by:
- Providing guides on how to register, verify, and interact with licensed bookmakers.
- Displaying only regulated operators within its bookmaker comparison service.
- Clearly labeling verified brands with visual trust indicators, similar to social media “blue ticks.”
- Offering transparency on bookmaker ratings, payout speeds, and available payment methods.
“Users in emerging regulated markets want clarity and safety. Our role is to highlight licensed bookmakers, explain regulatory processes, and build trust with reliable information,” said Pondělík.
Communication Channels and User Engagement
In addition to its app, websites, and bookmaker comparison tools, Flashscore also leverages LinkedIn for B2B communication, especially for partnerships and sponsorship announcements such as the collaboration around the Club World Cup with DAZN.
On the user side, newsletters, push notifications, and in-app messages remain the primary channels for engagement. Pondělík noted that every communication involving bookmakers or promotional offers is accompanied by clear regulatory messaging and terms, ensuring responsible communication.
Flashscore’s Latest Product Feature
The company also announced the rollout of its new Follow Player feature, allowing fans to receive real-time updates on their favorite football stars. This addition strengthens Flashscore’s position as a personalized sports hub, driving higher engagement and retention.
AI and the Future of Flashscore
Looking ahead, Pondělík revealed how AI adoption is central to Flashscore’s product roadmap. The company has created a dedicated AI team to support both internal workflows and user-facing features, including:
- Automated match previews for minor leagues.
- AI-driven translation tools to scale content across multiple languages.
- Generative prototyping tools for rapid product design and iteration.
“AI is not a buzzword for us, it’s a structured part of how we work. In my department, I split AI adoption into two streams: day-to-day efficiency for our teams, and product-level innovation that directly enhances the user experience,” explained Pondělík.
Transferable Experience from the Gaming Industry
Before joining Livesport, Pondělík held key roles at William Hill in Gibraltar and Sky Betting & Gaming in the UK, where he worked on flagship products like Sky Vegas Prize Machine. His experience in cross-sell, payments, and customer care now informs Flashscore’s strategic roadmap.
“Bookmakers are our number one clients. My background in betting and gaming gives me insight into how scores services can drive acquisition, engagement, and ultimately retention. Flashscore isn’t a bookmaker, but we complement the ecosystem by delivering trusted sports data that connects fans with regulated operators,” he noted.
