Codere Online Launches New iOS Poker App in Mexico With Playtech Support

Codere Online Luxembourg, S.A. has launched a dedicated iOS poker application in Mexico, deepening its product stack in one of its core Latin American markets and advancing its multi-vertical monetisation strategy.

The new app integrates directly with Playtech’s player-to-player (P2P) poker network, giving Codere access to shared liquidity across multiple operators rather than relying on a standalone pool. In emerging poker markets, liquidity scale is decisive: deeper player pools improve tournament frequency, table availability and retention economics.

Liquidity Over Isolation

By plugging into Playtech’s network, Codere avoids the capital and time required to build proprietary liquidity. For operators in Mexico’s still-maturing online ecosystem, shared networks reduce volatility in player traffic and accelerate time to competitive scale.

This approach positions Codere against established international poker brands active in the region, where liquidity depth typically determines long-term viability.

Early Traction Signals Vertical Potential

Codere reports more than 1,300 unique monthly active users already engaging with poker through existing channels. While modest in absolute terms, the figure indicates early product-market fit ahead of full mobile optimisation.

The strategic value lies less in short-term revenue contribution and more in lifetime value expansion. Poker typically serves as a high-engagement vertical that strengthens cross-sell between sportsbook and casino, particularly within unified wallet environments.

Mobile Sequencing and Product Stack Expansion

The iOS rollout precedes an Android poker app and bingo launch in Mexico, forming part of Codere’s broader multi-product roadmap. Expanding vertical breadth is increasingly central to operator performance in Latin America, where acquisition costs are rising and retention efficiency is becoming a differentiator.

The strategy builds on Codere’s October 2025 regulated market entry in Italy through the launch of Codere.it, highlighting parallel geographic and vertical expansion efforts.

For a Nasdaq-listed operator, vertical diversification also supports investor narratives around ARPU expansion and platform maturity beyond single-product exposure.

Strategic Implications

The move signals three operational priorities:

  • Liquidity-first procurement strategy over proprietary build.
  • Mobile-led engagement optimisation in a sportsbook-dominant market.
  • Cross-vertical retention leverage as competition intensifies in Mexico.

The app is now live on Apple’s App Store in Mexico.
