Octoplay Founder Carl Ejlertsson Steps Down as CEO, Ralitsa Georgieva Named Successor
After three years of rapid expansion, Octoplay has confirmed that its founder will step out of the CEO role to focus on the creative and strategic direction of the business. Since launching in October 2022, the studio has built a portfolio of more than 200 games, secured 15 active licences across Europe and North America, and entered new regulated markets at a steady pace.
From March, Ralitsa Georgieva will assume the role of CEO. Georgieva has been a key figure in Octoplay’s growth, leading commercial expansion efforts that delivered tier-one operator partnerships, early European traction, and the company’s entry into the US market. Her appointment reflects the company’s focus on execution, scale, and operational leadership as it matures.
Alongside the CEO transition, Octoplay has unveiled a strengthened executive structure. Jack Bailey joins as Commercial Director to accelerate global growth initiatives. Conor Leavey, who has advised the company since September, steps into the role of Chief Product Officer to lead product strategy during the next phase of scaling. Martina Borg Stevens has been promoted to Chief Legal Officer, while Nicola Vella takes on the role of Chief Finance Officer, reinforcing governance and financial oversight.
The leadership changes are designed to align Octoplay’s structure with its evolving business needs rather than signal a shift in direction. The outgoing CEO remains closely involved, continuing to support the company’s long-term vision and innovation roadmap.
With a more defined executive team and a clear focus on operational excellence, Octoplay is positioning itself to sustain growth across regulated markets while strengthening its position as a global iGaming content provider.
