Pragmatic Play has officially ended all game supply to US sweepstakes operators, citing regulatory changes and evolving legislation. This makes Pragmatic the first major iGaming provider to withdraw from the controversial sweepstakes vertical. The move follows a civil enforcement action in Los Angeles that targeted Stake.us and its content suppliers, placing scrutiny on the legality of sweepstakes casinos.
While many operators have stayed in the space, Pragmatic’s decision may set a precedent for others, particularly as California’s Assembly Bill 831 advances toward a Senate vote that could criminalise supplier involvement. Analysts suggest this exit also signals Pragmatic’s long-term interest in the regulated US iGaming market, where compliance and transparency remain central to growth.
