Maryland six Casinos Generate $148.5M in February Revenue | iGaming News Today

Maryland’s six commercial casinos generated $148.5 million in combined gaming revenue from slot machines and table games in February 2026, representing a 4.3% decline year-over-year. The figures were released by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency as part of its monthly financial report.

Statewide casino gaming contributions totaled $63.6 million during the month, down 2.4% from the previous year. Of this amount, $45.9 million was directed to the state’s Education Trust Fund, reflecting a 2.5% annual decrease.

Fiscal Year Performance

Despite the monthly decline, Maryland’s casino sector has generated $1.26 billion in gaming revenue during the first eight months of Fiscal Year 2026 (July 2025 – February 2026). This represents a 2.2% decrease compared with the same period in FY2025.

Total state contributions during the fiscal period reached $543.2 million, down 1.4% year-on-year.

Casino gaming revenues in Maryland support several state programs and community initiatives, including the Education Trust Fund, local jurisdiction impact grants, the horse racing industry, and programs supporting small, minority- and women-owned businesses. The importance of these contributions has become central to ongoing policy debates in the state, particularly as lawmakers continue to weigh the potential introduction of online casino gaming-a proposal that has faced strong voter resistance, as detailed in Maryland Voters Push Back Against Online Casino Legalisation.

Casino-by-Casino Performance

Among Maryland’s six gaming properties, MGM National Harbor remained the market leader in February, generating $64.8 million, a 3.1% decline year-over-year.

Live! Casino & Hotel reported $52 million, marking the largest annual drop among the properties at 8.8%.

Meanwhile, Horseshoe Casino Baltimore recorded $14.2 million, representing a 1.1% increase compared with February 2025.

Other properties posted mixed results:

  • Hollywood Casino Perryville: $6.86 million, down 4.0%
  • Ocean Downs Casino: $6.31 million, up 3.3%
  • Rocky Gap Casino Resort: $4.23 million, up 8.9%

Slot and Table Game Breakdown

Video lottery terminals generated approximately $102.8 million in February revenue, while table games contributed about $45.7 million, according to the state’s monthly financial report.

Revenue allocations continued to support multiple state programs. From slot revenue alone, approximately $39.1 million was directed to the Education Trust Fund, with additional funding distributed to casino operators, local impact grants, horse racing purses, and other state initiatives.
