Caesars EVP Eric Hession Marks Grand Opening of Caesars Race & Sportsbook at The Resort at Summerlin
New venue links retail wagering with mobile wallet onboarding in Nevada’s high-value local betting market
Caesars Entertainment has opened a new Caesars Race & Sportsbook at The Resort at Summerlin, marking the company’s first retail sportsbook presence in the affluent western Las Vegas suburb. The expansion comes amid a regulatory environment in Nevada that has intensified oversight of major casino operators following several high-profile compliance cases, including a $7.8 million AML penalty imposed on Caesars in late 2025, as detailed in Caesars Fined $7.8M as Nevada Tightens AML Enforcement
The venue expands Caesars’ Nevada sportsbook footprint while reinforcing the operator’s strategy of using retail locations as acquisition and onboarding hubs for its mobile betting ecosystem.Located on the casino floor, the nearly 6,000-square-foot sportsbook features a large-format video wall and 20 self-service betting kiosks positioned across the casino floor.
The opening was marked by a ceremonial first bet placed by former Vegas Golden Knights player Deryk Engelland.
Targeting a Key Local Betting Market
Summerlin represents one of the most valuable local gaming markets in the Las Vegas area, with a large resident base of higher-income customers and established demand for sports wagering.
Until now, Caesars lacked a dedicated retail sportsbook presence in the district. The new venue positions Caesars to compete more directly with west-side casino operators that currently dominate Summerlin’s local sports betting traffic.
“Opening Caesars Race & Sportsbook at The Resort at Summerlin is a significant milestone for our brand in Las Vegas,” said Eric Hession, President of Caesars.
For Caesars, the location also serves a broader role in its retail-to-digital strategy, particularly in Nevada where in-person verification requirements make physical sportsbooks critical customer acquisition channels.
Retail as a Mobile Acquisition Channel
The Summerlin sportsbook enables customers to complete in-person registration for the Caesars Sportsbook mobile app, alongside mobile cash deposits and withdrawals.
Since launching in 2021, the Caesars Sportsbook app has expanded its feature set, including the rollout of its Universal Digital Wallet, which allows bettors to move funds between multiple US jurisdictions where Caesars operates. Caesars is also expanding its proprietary digital casino portfolio, recently launching its first internally developed online slot Ca$hline, a move designed to strengthen content ownership and margin control across its U.S. iGaming platforms, as detailed in its Launches First In-House Online Slot Ca$hline.
The wallet now lives in 27 jurisdictions, enabling Nevada customers visiting other regulated markets to use the same account balance across Caesars’ betting platforms.
Expanding the Retail-Digital Ecosystem
The Caesars Sportsbook platform supports a wide range of wagering formats, including Same Game Parlays, player props, futures and live in-play betting, alongside livestreaming for select events.
While mobile betting accounts for the majority of sports wagering volume in the US, operators continue to maintain retail sportsbooks in Nevada to support customer acquisition, brand visibility and cash-based betting demand.
The Summerlin launch reflects Caesars’ continued investment in physical sportsbook infrastructure as a complement to its national mobile betting network.
