The UK Gambling Commission is redefining how alternative dispute resolution operates in the UK.
The UKGC has launched a consultation to update its Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice (LCCP), including a landmark proposal to remove its list of approved ADR providers. From 6 April 2026, accreditation will move to the Secretary of State, while licensees will still be required to offer free access to ADR after eight weeks.
The consultation also ensures the LCCP reflects updates from the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, replacing outdated consumer protection regulations. Stakeholders are invited to submit feedback before the consultation closes on 29 September 2025. These changes are designed to align licensees’ obligations strictly with legislative requirements.
