Thailand Police Arrest 10 Foreigners in Poker Raid Koh Phangan

In a late-night raid, Tourist Police Division 5 apprehended 10 individuals participating in an unauthorised poker session at a rented property locally known as Golden Moon. The operation follows surveillance by officers who observed several motorbikes outside the property and recorded the activity before intervening. Among those arrested were six Russians, one Romanian, one Israeli, one German, and one Briton.

Police recovered poker chips, playing cards, and an automatic card shuffler from the scene. Anton Kozko, a 36-year-old Russian and tenant of the property, was identified as the organiser and faces additional charges for hosting the illegal gambling activity. The suspects have been transferred to Koh Phangan police station, where investigations continue.

Thai authorities have consistently warned that all gambling outside legal frameworks remains prohibited. This enforcement action underscores the country’s commitment to preventing private gambling networks and protecting the integrity of its gaming regulations. Officials emphasise that both locals and foreign visitors must adhere to legal gambling practices, with police vigilance ensuring compliance.
