Imperial Esports has established its European headquarters in Malta, reinforcing the country’s growing reputation as a strategic hub for competitive gaming and interactive entertainment. The Brazilian organisation, best known for its high-profile Counter-Strike roster, selected Malta as part of a broader global expansion strategy. The newly opened 180 square metre facility in Paceville will serve as the central base for the organisation’s European operations.

The headquarters is equipped with high-performance practice rooms, broadcast spaces, and dedicated production areas designed to support daily competitive activity. This allows Imperial to consolidate training, logistics, content creation, and event hosting within a single location. The space will also be used for bootcamps, tournaments, and collaborative initiatives with the Malta Esports Association.

GamingMalta CEO Ivan Filletti described the development as a strong endorsement of Malta’s long-term vision to become a global centre for gaming and esports. He noted that 2025 has already been a breakthrough year for the sector, with several international operators choosing Malta for their European operations. Imperial joins other prominent names, including FURIA and BLAST, expanding the island’s influence across the esports landscape.

The move aligns with the government’s strategic investment of €60 million in iGaming, esports, talent development, and emerging technologies. Imperial’s arrival contributes to this momentum, generating new opportunities, employment, and industry collaboration. Malta’s strong air connectivity to key esports hubs such as the UK, Germany, Turkey, and Serbia further supports its attractiveness as a regional base.

Imperial plans to begin operations in December, with its Counter-Strike team scheduled to hold a pre-Major bootcamp as the first activity. As Malta continues to blend esports, iGaming, and digital media, Imperial’s presence is expected to enhance the island’s positioning as a competitive force within Europe’s gaming industry.
