Michigan breaks online sports betting revenue record in November
Michigan set a new record for online sports betting revenue in November, underscoring the continued strength of the state’s regulated gambling market. Gross online sports betting revenue reached an all-time high of $87.3 million, contributing to total online gambling revenue of $335.7 million across sports betting and iGaming, according to the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
Total online gambling revenue increased 18.1% year-on-year, although it remained slightly below October’s record performance. Sports betting emerged as the primary growth driver during the month, surpassing its previous peak from January, while iGaming generated $248.4 million in gross revenue, reflecting steady annual growth despite easing from October highs.
Adjusted gross receipts, which account for promotional spending, reached $298 million, marking a 24% increase compared to last year. Adjusted iGaming receipts rose 14.7%, while adjusted sports betting receipts surged by 74.7%, indicating stronger underlying profitability. Player activity remained robust, with $631.1 million wagered on sports online during November.
Operator performance continued to be led by established partnerships. FanDuel and MotorCity Casino topped both sports betting and iGaming rankings, followed by DraftKings and BetMGM in sports betting. In iGaming, BetMGM also maintained a strong second-place position.
The state collected $53 million in gaming taxes and payments, with the majority generated from iGaming activity. Detroit’s commercial casinos posted stable combined revenue of $108.2 million, reflecting balanced performance across land-based operations.
November’s results reinforce Michigan’s position as one of the most resilient and consistently high-performing iGaming markets in the United States.
