The Swedish Gambling Authority (Spelinspektionen) has officially banned Cyprus-registered CGG Entertainment Ltd, the operator of cases.gg, from providing games to Swedish consumers. The regulator determined that the company’s platform offered “mystery box” games and lotteries without holding the necessary national gaming licence. Investigations revealed that the website contained Swedish text, displayed the national flag, and accepted players from Swedish IP addresses clear evidence of targeting local users.
Despite CGG Entertainment’s public commitment to block Swedish players and card payments, a follow-up inspection confirmed that the site continued to display Swedish content. Spelinspektionen therefore upheld the prohibition order, reinforcing its dedication to ensuring all operators within Sweden’s jurisdiction adhere to licensing regulations.
This enforcement action follows a series of bans against offshore operators, including Yomoly Ltd and several Curaçao-based entities earlier this year. The move aligns with Sweden’s broader goal to strengthen channelisation the proportion of legal, licensed gambling activity to reach 90 percent.
A government-led review of Sweden’s Gambling Act is also underway, proposing a participant-based approach to determine jurisdiction, ensuring that any operator allowing Swedish access must comply with national law. The CGG Entertainment ban highlights the regulator’s ongoing efforts to protect consumers, promote fair play, and ensure a transparent, safe, and regulated iGaming environment.
