Editorial Policy
Our Editorial Mission
iGaming News Today is an independent digital publication dedicated to accurate, timely and insightful coverage of the global iGaming industry. We report on online casinos, sports betting, regulation and compliance, technology, payments, marketing and the companies and people shaping the sector worldwide.
Our purpose is simple: to help industry professionals — operators, suppliers, affiliates, regulators, investors and decision-makers — stay informed through factual reporting, meaningful context and responsible journalism.
Our work follows the core principles of responsible journalism recognised across the industry: accuracy, independence, fairness, minimising harm and accountability.
Who We Are
iGaming News Today is part of iGaming Today Group, an independent iGaming media group spanning news, marketing, events and awards, headquartered in Tbilisi, Georgia, with a globally distributed editorial team.
We are an independent media company. iGaming News Today is not owned or controlled by any gambling operator, supplier or affiliate network, and no external commercial party holds editorial control over our reporting.
Editorial Leadership & Team
Our newsroom is led by Neeva Malik, Head of News, who is responsible for editorial direction and standards. Day-to-day reporting is produced by an editorial team of 25+ contributors and writers based across Europe, the United States and emerging markets, and to date the team has published 75+ exclusive interviews with industry leaders.
Every article carries a named author with a linked author profile and a visible publication date (updated where a story changes materially), and every contributor — staff or guest — is held to the standards set out on this page. Editorial responsibility rests with our named authors and editors, not with any commercial or third party.
Editorial Independence
iGaming News Today maintains full editorial independence. Our news reporting is not influenced by advertising, sponsorship or commercial relationships. Sponsored content and paid placements are always clearly identified as such, and commercial partnerships never determine whether, or how, a story is covered.
Commercial Relationships, Advertising & Sponsored Content
We fund our journalism through advertising, sponsored content, events and awards. To protect trust, we keep a clear separation between our commercial and editorial functions:
- Advertisers and sponsors cannot preview, edit, approve or veto editorial content before publication.
- Sponsored articles, partner features and paid placements are clearly labelled so readers always know what is independent journalism and what is paid-for.
- Commercial relationships do not earn favourable coverage, and declining a commercial relationship does not result in unfavourable coverage.
- iGaming News Today does not monetise editorial articles through affiliate links. Our reporting is never influenced by referral or commission arrangements.
Conflicts of Interest, Gifts & Event Travel
Because we cover an industry we operate within, we take conflicts of interest seriously:
- Our writers and editors do not allow gifts, hospitality or personal relationships to influence their reporting.
- Where a team member has a material personal or financial connection to a company being covered, they either declare it or step away from the story.
- Members of our team may attend industry events on complimentary or press passes as part of normal trade reporting. This never guarantees coverage or shapes our editorial judgement, and any coverage produced from a hosted or sponsored arrangement is disclosed to readers.
How We Report — Sourcing & Verification
Our reporting is built on primary and verified sources: official press releases, regulatory announcements, company statements, filings, and named or verified industry sources. Before publication we cross-check key facts — dates, figures, names and claims — against original sources wherever possible, and we prioritise official and primary sources over second-hand reports. Headlines accurately reflect the story and are never misleading or sensationalised.
We prefer named, on-the-record sources. We grant anonymity only where there is a clear public-interest reason and the information can be verified, and we do not publish unverified claims.
Our Editorial Process
Every article follows a defined workflow before it reaches you:
- Research — the story is built from primary and verified sources.
- Drafting — written by a named author, in line with the standards on this page.
- Fact-checking & sub-editing — key facts, figures and quotes are checked, and the copy is edited for accuracy and clarity.
- Editor review & sign-off — an editor approves the piece before it is published.
- Publication & review — published content is monitored, corrected where needed, and our editorial standards are reviewed periodically.
Content Guidelines
- Types of content: news, features, analysis, opinion, interviews and event coverage.
- Tone & style: clear, professional British English — factual, never arrogant or sensational.
- Restrictions: no plagiarism, hate speech, misinformation or unverified claims.
- Ethical standards: fair, balanced and inclusive reporting; consent obtained where required.
Original Content & Attribution
Our output includes original news reporting, industry analysis, expert commentary and interviews. External sources and third-party information are clearly attributed and, where appropriate, linked. We do not publish scraped, auto-generated or plagiarised content.
Content Labels
To keep our reporting easy to trust and interpret, we distinguish between the types of content we publish:
- News — factual, sourced reporting of industry developments.
- Analysis & Opinion — interpretation, commentary or viewpoint, clearly presented as such and attributed to its author.
- Sponsored / Partner Content — commercially funded material, always explicitly labelled and kept separate from independent editorial.
Use of AI & Automation
We use AI tools to assist with research, grammar and structuring. Every article is reviewed and edited by a human before publication, source research remains a human responsibility, and editorial accountability always rests with the named author. We do not publish fully automated, unreviewed content.
Corrections, Updates & Retractions
Accuracy matters to us, and we own our mistakes.
- When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly.
- Significant factual corrections are updated visibly within the article.
- In rare cases where an article cannot be corrected or is found to be materially unfounded, it may be updated with a clear note or retracted, with the reason recorded.
- Readers can report inaccuracies at any time to editor@igamingnewstoday.com.
Right of Reply & Complaints
If an individual or company believes our coverage is inaccurate or unfair, they can contact us at editor@igamingnewstoday.com. We review every good-faith complaint, offer a right of reply where appropriate, and respond as quickly as we reasonably can.
Responsible Gambling
iGaming News Today supports responsible gambling and complies with applicable regulations. We do not encourage excessive or irresponsible gambling behaviour in our coverage.
If you or someone you know needs support with gambling, help is available through organisations such as BeGambleAware (begambleaware.org) and GamCare (gamcare.org.uk).
