FanDuel is preparing to launch its online casino and sportsbook operations in Alberta on July 13, 2026, pending regulatory approval, expanding the operator’s Canadian presence beyond Ontario.

The planned market entry will give eligible players aged 18 and over access to FanDuel’s casino and sports betting products. Alberta customers can create an account ahead of the proposed launch through the operator’s Canadian platform.

“Alberta represents an exciting new chapter for FanDuel Canada, and we look forward to the opportunity to bring our industry-leading Casino and Sportsbook experience to players across the province,” said Dale Hooper, General Manager of FanDuel Canada.

“As we plan to enter this new market, we’re committed to delivering a best-in-class entertainment experience and meaningful community engagement remains at the heart of everything we do,” Hooper added.

Light & Wonder Partnership Brings Huff N’ Puff to Alberta

Alongside the planned launch, FanDuel Canada has announced an exclusive partnership with Light & Wonder to bring the supplier’s Huff N’ Puff franchise to Alberta players, subject to regulatory approval.

The agreement adds a casino content component to FanDuel’s Alberta strategy as the operator prepares for its proposed market entry.

FanDuel Expands CFL Partnership Into Alberta

FanDuel has also renewed its partnership with the Canadian Football League under a multi-year agreement, expanding the relationship beyond Ontario to include Alberta.

Casino will also be added as a new category under the partnership. The expansion broadens the scope of the existing relationship ahead of FanDuel’s proposed Alberta entry.

The renewed agreement comes ahead of the 113th Grey Cup, scheduled to take place at McMahon Stadium in Calgary on November 15, 2026.

FanDuel is also the title sponsor of the Cowboys Stampede Showdown Charity Poker Tournament, which supports the Calgary Stampede Foundation. The 2026 event raised $260,000, marking a record fundraising year for the tournament. The tournament has raised more than $1.3 million for the foundation.

FanDuel Commits $80,000 to Alberta Initiatives

FanDuel is supporting its planned market entry with $80,000 in community donations.

The company will donate $50,000 to the A Dollar A Day Foundation to help bridge the gap between funding and frontline mental health programmes in Alberta. Over the past three years, FanDuel has contributed $150,000 to support mental health organisations across Ontario and Alberta.

A further $30,000 will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross Emergency Management Program in Alberta to support disaster preparedness, crisis response and community recovery.
