Betway Partners With Orchestrate to Bring National Hunt Racing Back to Towcester Racecourse
Betway has announced a landmark partnership with Orchestrate, the owners of Towcester Racecourse, to support the return of horse racing to the historic Northamptonshire venue ahead of the planned return of National Hunt racing at the start of the 2027/28 jumps season.
Under the agreement, the Super Group-owned sportsbook brand will become the Principal Strategic Partner of the racecourse, which will be renamed Betway Towcester Racecourse. The partnership also marks a first for UK horse racing, with Betway becoming the exclusive betting partner across all fixtures at the venue.
Betway to Rebrand Historic Racecourse
As part of the partnership, Towcester Racecourse will officially become Betway Towcester Racecourse, making it the first UK racecourse to carry the name of a commercial partner.
The agreement supports the return of horse racing to the historic venue, which famously hosted AP McCoy’s 4,000th career winner in November 2013. In preparation for racing’s return, refurbishment works worth more than £2 million are already underway across the racecourse and its facilities.
Point-to-Point fixtures are expected to serve as a curtain-raiser ahead of the return of official National Hunt racing in Autumn 2027.
National Hunt Racing Targeted for Autumn 2027
Official National Hunt racing is planned to return in Autumn 2027, subject to Towcester Racecourse securing the necessary racecourse licences from the British Horseracing Authority (BHA).
According to Orchestrate, six initial race fixtures have been secured with the support of Martin Cruddace at Arena Racing Company (ARC) as preparations continue for the venue’s reopening.
The redevelopment of the racecourse will also be documented in a fly-on-the-wall documentary series, scheduled for release in 2027, following the venue’s journey towards welcoming racing back.
Partnership Includes Focus on Jockey Welfare
The partnership will also include a focus on jockey welfare as redevelopment of the venue continues.
Betway ambassador and seven-time Irish Champion National Hunt jockey Paul Townend will contribute to the project by providing input on jockey welfare, including course layout and weighing room facilities.
Lewis Knowles, PR Manager at Betway, said the company is delighted to partner with the Towcester team to help bring horse racing back to the historic racecourse. He added that Betway aims to create a unique experience for racegoers, owners, trainers and jockeys while documenting the venue’s return through the planned documentary series.
Mike Davis, Chairman of Orchestrate, said the partnership turns the ambition of bringing horse racing back to Towcester into reality. He added that the organisation is continuing to work with the British Horseracing Authority to secure the necessary racecourse licences and confirmed that six initial fixtures have been secured with the support of Martin Cruddace at Arena Racing Company.
Partnership Marks Betway’s Latest UK Racing Initiative
The partnership expands Betway’s involvement in UK horse racing through its role as Principal Strategic Partner and exclusive betting partner at Towcester Racecourse. Alongside supporting the racecourse’s return, the agreement introduces the first UK racecourse to carry the name of a commercial partner.

What’s Next for Betway Towcester Racecourse?
The immediate focus will remain on completing the ongoing refurbishment works while Orchestrate continues working with the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) to secure the necessary racecourse licences for the planned return of official National Hunt racing in Autumn 2027.
Ahead of that return, Point-to-Point fixtures are expected to serve as a curtain-raiser, while the planned fly-on-the-wall documentary series will follow the redevelopment of the venue and is scheduled for release in 2027. Betway and Orchestrate are expected to continue sharing updates as preparations progress towards the reopening of Betway Towcester Racecourse.
