4 Promotions. Decades of Gaming Experience. GLI Strengthens Its EMEIA Sales Leadership From Within

GLI Announces 4 Promotions Across EMEIA Sales Leadership | iGaming News Today

Gaming Laboratories International has promoted four sales directors across its EMEIA operation, covering both account management and business development. It is a modest personnel announcement, but for a testing and certification business that lives on long client relationships, how it staffs its commercial leadership is worth a closer look.

Who GLI Has Promoted Across EMEIA

From its Haarlem, Netherlands base, GLI confirmed the four promotions on 17 September 2026: Francesca Badon to Director of Account Management, EMEIA, Alberto Ruiz-Ocaña to Director of Business Development, EMEIA, Caio Parry to Director of Account Management, EMEIA, and Antonino Santangelo to Director of Account Management, EMEIA. They are based in Italy, Spain, the UK and Malta respectively, reflecting the spread of a region that runs across multiple markets and regulatory frameworks.

What Each Promotion Involves For The Gaming Testing Business

Each of the four has moved up from a senior role already held inside GLI. Francesca Badon has been with the company since 2019, most recently as Senior Account Manager. Alberto Ruiz-Ocaña joined in 2021, previously Senior Business Development Manager, EMEIA. Caio Parry has been with GLI since 2018, starting as a Project Manager and most recently serving as Senior Account Manager. Antonino Santangelo has also been with GLI since 2018, most recently as Senior Account Manager.

Why Internal Promotions Matter In B2B Gaming

Two Vice Presidents of EMEIA Sales spoke to the announcement. Chris Davies said: “We are delighted to promote these four great leaders and see their careers progress within GLI. Together, they represent decades of gaming knowledge and experience, hugely benefiting our clients. As they have grown, so has the value they bring and we look forward to exciting times for both them and the future of our industry.”

James Illingworth added: “These promotions reflect the strength of our EMEIA sales organization and the leadership we continue to build across the region. Francesca, Alberto, Caio, and Antonino each bring valuable market knowledge, strong client relationships, and a clear understanding of the opportunities ahead. In their expanded roles, they will help us deepen our support for customers and strengthen GLI’s presence across EMEIA.”

The signal is straightforward. Every one of these directors was already inside the business, several since 2018. In a market where a testing partner’s day-to-day value sits as much in the relationship as in the certification itself, promoting people who already know the clients and the jurisdictions keeps that knowledge in place rather than resetting it.

GLI’s EMEIA Team Heads To SBC Lisbon

The timing is client-facing. Chris Davies, Alberto Ruiz-Ocaña and Francesca Badon will represent GLI alongside a wider EMEIA team at SBC Lisbon, where the company will be on stand B238. Two of the newly promoted directors meeting clients at a major regional event puts the announcement straight in front of the audience it is aimed at. [suggest internal link: SBC Lisbon coverage]

What Does This Mean For B2B iGaming Operators?

For operators and suppliers who work with GLI, the practical read is continuity. The people managing these relationships across EMEIA are moving up, not out, and the commercial structure around them is being reinforced from within. It is a small announcement that points to a bigger pattern: a testing partner scaling its client support by promoting depth it already has, rather than buying it in. For a fragmented, multi-jurisdiction market, that kind of institutional memory is often worth as much as the certification stamp itself.
