Ocean Casino Resort Is Going Bigger on High-Limit Gaming – $14M Expansion Adds 192+ Premium Slots
Ocean Casino Resort is reworking the economics of its gaming floor, not just its look. On 1 October 2026, the Atlantic City property announced a $14 million investment to expand and transform The Cove, its high-limit slot destination, with a significantly larger footprint and more machines. The redesigned space is slated to open in early 2027.
The headline number is modest for a casino capital project, but where it is being spent is the point. Ocean is directing the spend at high-limit slots specifically and positioning it as part of a wider effort to lift the property’s overall slot count.
Why Ocean Casino Resort is expanding its high-limit slot space now
The company says the project is a direct response to demand for high-end slots at the property. Rather than spread the investment across the main floor, Ocean is concentrating it on its premium segment. The Cove will sit adjacent to the Asian Table Games area, clustering the property’s high-end play in one part of the building.
What the $14 million casino expansion actually involves
After the transformation, The Cove will span 11,935 square feet, which the company describes as roughly a 60 percent increase. It will feature 192 slot machines from leading manufacturers, including Aristocrat, Light & Wonder, IGT and others. The play lineup combines established favourites with newer titles across slots, linked games, progressive-style experiences and video poker.
The design takes its cues from the Atlantic Ocean beyond the property’s Boardwalk setting, with fluid, wave-inspired architectural details and a palette of soft neutrals, light oak, luminous marble, brushed gold and layered ocean blues.
How the upgrade reshapes the Ocean Casino Resort guest experience
The expansion is built around service as much as space. Ocean is adding specialised cocktail service, comfortable seating areas, dedicated restrooms and cashier booths, and an enhanced beverage menu delivered to guests while they play. The aim, per the company, is a high-limit environment that carries the energy of the casino floor with the comfort and privacy of a luxury lounge.
In the words of Ocean Casino Resort General Manager Bill Callahan:
“This transformation of The Cove is another significant investment in the future of Ocean Casino Resort and the experiences we deliver to our guests. We’ve expanded the space while elevating every aspect of the environment, from the design and gaming offerings to the service and amenities, resulting in a sophisticated and distinctly Ocean experience that reflects the level of quality our high-limit guests have come to expect from us.”
Where The Cove fits in Ocean’s premium gaming portfolio
The Cove joins a growing set of high-end offerings at the property. Ocean operates a High Limit Table Games area and The Loft, a 2,000-square-foot private gaming suite 44 stories above Atlantic City with butler service, a top-shelf bar and floor-to-ceiling ocean views. Its 8,000-square-foot Asian gaming space, recently doubled in size, holds 32 tables with games including Baccarat and Pai Gow Poker.
What the expansion signals for the Atlantic City gaming market
A 60 percent expansion of high-limit slot space is a bigger statement than the $14 million price tag suggests. High-limit floors are generally regarded in the industry as among the most revenue-dense space a casino operates, so concentrating fresh investment there, inside a wider slot-count expansion, points to where Ocean expects its 2027 growth to come from: deeper spend from its most valuable guests rather than broader footfall. For Atlantic City, where operators are competing hard for premium play, it is a clear marker of how the property intends to defend and grow its highest-margin business.
