Ontario’s Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Gaming, Stan Cho, has announced a comprehensive review of the province’s iGaming sector. The review, which also includes land-based casinos, aims to streamline regulations, reduce duplication, and improve economic outcomes.
With OLG projected to generate $6.82 billion and iGO $3.7 billion, the initiative is designed to ensure optimal efficiency and stronger returns to taxpayers.
Canadian Gaming Association President Paul Burns supports the move, calling it a “quick win” opportunity to resolve bureaucratic overlap.
