The Star Entertainment Group Ltd has announced the resignation of its group chief financial officer, Frank Krile, effective December 29, alongside the departure of group chief operating officer Jeannie Mok, who will leave the company at the end of January 2026. The changes mark the latest developments in a prolonged executive overhaul as the Australian casino operator works through a comprehensive remediation process.

In a market filing, The Star said it will commence a formal search for a new group CFO and will update investors in due course. Chief executive Bruce Mathieson Jnr thanked both executives for their contributions, noting their role in supporting the company’s remediation efforts during a challenging period.

The resignations follow several recent leadership appointments and departures. Earlier this month, Soo Kim was appointed chairman of the board, with Mathieson Jnr vacating the role to become group CEO and managing director, subject to outstanding regulatory and ministerial approvals. The same board meeting also confirmed the departure of former CEO and managing director Steve McCann.

The leadership changes come against the backdrop of a AUD300 million rescue package approved by shareholders in June and led by US-based Bally’s. Following the transaction, Bally’s holds a 38 percent stake in The Star, while the Mathieson family owns approximately 23 percent, according to Reuters.

The Star operates major casino properties including The Star Sydney in New South Wales and The Star Brisbane in Queensland. As regulatory scrutiny remains high, the company’s evolving leadership structure will be closely watched by regulators, investors, and industry stakeholders assessing its progress toward long-term stability and compliance.
