Hacksaw Gaming Partners with Sunbet to Grow South African Presence
Hacksaw Gaming has expanded further into South Africa after announcing a new partnership with Sunbet, adding another operator to its growing distribution network across Africa.
The deal will bring Hacksaw’s casino content to Sunbet players, giving the operator access to the supplier’s portfolio of slots and instant win games as competition in the region’s online casino market continues to increase.
The agreement comes during a strong period for Hacksaw Gaming commercially. The company recently posted €57.6 million in Q1 2026 revenue while holding EBIT margins at 82%, continuing a run of strong financial performance and international growth.
Growing Competition in South Africa
South Africa has become one of the key focus markets for suppliers looking to expand across Africa’s online gaming sector. As more players move toward mobile and online casino products, operators are investing heavily in content that can keep users engaged for longer.
For Sunbet, adding Hacksaw’s games strengthens its casino offering in a market where standing out is becoming increasingly difficult. Operators are no longer competing only on bonuses or sportsbook products, content quality is starting to play a much bigger role in player retention.
Hacksaw has built a strong reputation around high-volatility slots and fast-paced gameplay, which has helped the supplier grow quickly across several regulated markets over the last few years.
Suppliers Are Focusing More on Regional Partnerships
The partnership also reflects a wider shift happening across African iGaming. Instead of trying to enter markets alone, more suppliers are working directly with established regional operators to scale faster and reduce market-entry friction.
A similar strategy was recently seen through TaDa Gaming’s partnership with Sunbet in South Africa, where the focus was also placed on expanding local reach and strengthening regional distribution.
That approach is becoming increasingly important as competition across African gaming markets continues to rise. Operators want proven content, while suppliers want quicker access to local audiences and established platforms.
Content Is Becoming a Bigger Differentiator
The market itself is also changing. Simply offering a large number of games is no longer enough. Operators are becoming more selective about the suppliers they work with, focusing more on engagement, retention, and content performance.
That creates more pressure on suppliers to deliver games that can stand out inside crowded casino lobbies and perform consistently across mobile devices.
For companies like Hacksaw Gaming, partnerships with recognised operators help strengthen brand visibility while also improving long-term market positioning.
Executive Comments
Tyler Gentle, Casino Product Manager at Sunbet, said:
“If a game doesn’t get your pulse going, it’s not doing its job. That’s exactly what Hacksaw brings to the table – games that don’t sit quietly in a lobby, but burst off the screen with bold gameplay, big moments and immersive, edgy worlds. It’s a new level of intensity for our players, and we couldn’t be more excited about it.”
Marcus Cordes, Operational CEO of Hacksaw Gaming, added:
“We’re pleased to make another launch in South Africa through this partnership with Sunbet. It’s a well-established brand with a strong local following, and we’re excited to see our titles go live on their platform.”
Africa Continues to Attract Supplier Investment
Africa’s online gaming sector is still growing, but it is also becoming more competitive. As more suppliers target the region, partnerships and distribution strategies are becoming increasingly important.
For operators, strong supplier relationships help improve content depth and player engagement. For suppliers, regional deals provide faster expansion and stronger local positioning.
The Hacksaw-Sunbet partnership reflects both trends and shows how suppliers are continuing to prioritise Africa as a long-term growth market.
