This Week in iGaming Leadership: 6 Appointments Shaping the Industry’s Next Chapter
The people moving into new chairs this week tell you more about industry priorities than any earnings call.
Six appointments across platform, casino, legal, media and hospitality landed in the same window this week, and read together they point in one direction. Commercial leadership, legal firepower and service depth are the roles operators and suppliers are rushing to strengthen. This iGaming appointments roundup covers the moves at Aloplay, Mohegan, Gaming Arts, Allwyn, Bragg and W Macau at Studio City, and what each one signals for the businesses making them.
Aloplay Appointment Puts Commercial Strategy at the Centre
Aloplay has appointed Alon Eshed as Chief Commercial Officer. Eshed brings more than a decade of commercial and iGaming experience, and he will lead the platform’s customer-facing functions and commercial strategy, with a stated focus on building strategic partnerships and creating a consistent, partner-first experience for operators.
His own framing of the role is worth reading closely. Eshed said what convinced him about Aloplay was the ambition behind it, which is not to be another platform on a shortlist, but the partner operators build their business around.
That is a positioning statement as much as a hire. Platform providers compete on being chosen, then forgotten until renewal. Aloplay is signalling it wants to be embedded, not shortlisted, and it has put a commercial leader in place to make that case to operators directly.
Mohegan Appointment Strengthens Legal Firepower for Bigger Deals
Mohegan has promoted Kristi Hanney to Vice President, Deputy General Counsel. In the new role she will help oversee the administration and operation of Mohegan’s Legal Department and support strategic legal and business initiatives across the portfolio.
Hanney joined Mohegan in 2022 as Senior Corporate Counsel. Since then she has worked on some of the group’s most consequential transactions, including the strengthening of Mohegan’s balance sheet in 2025, the sale of the Connecticut Sun, and the restructuring of Mohegan’s digital businesses. Joseph Lobe, Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel, called her a trusted advisor on some of the most important transactions in Mohegan’s recent history.
The pattern here is telling. A gaming group that has been actively reshaping its balance sheet and its digital arm is deepening its legal bench rather than trimming it. When a company promotes from inside its transaction team, it is usually preparing to do more transactions, not fewer.
Gaming Arts Appointment Signals a Service Investment
Gaming Arts has welcomed Tommy Woods as Director of Field Service. Woods brings more than 20 years managing large, distributed support and field engineering teams, with a track record of scaling support operations, improving service metrics, standardising processes and delivering complex deployments for enterprise customers.
This is the quiet appointment that operators should actually notice. Field service rarely makes headlines, but it is where supplier relationships are won or lost. A studio that hires a specialist to raise the standard of on-site support is competing on reliability, not just on game titles. For any operator weighing a supplier, the strength of the service layer is a real procurement question, and Gaming Arts has just made a visible move on it.
Allwyn Appointment Backs a Global Brand Push
Allwyn has appointed Xenia Olajosova as Group Media Director, adding international experience across marketing, media and transformation. She arrives from global health tech company BD, where she led the Centre of Excellence for Marketing Communication, and has previously held senior media and marketing roles at Galderma, Duracell and Procter & Gamble.
The timing matters. Allwyn frames the hire as coming at a pivotal moment in its brand journey, following the recent appointment of Forsman & Bodenfors as its global creative agency. Olajosova said she looked forward to bringing more consistency, shared learning and value to the group’s brand and product ambitions.
Read the two moves together and the strategy is clear. A new global creative agency plus a senior media leader drawn from outside gaming is how a lottery-led group builds brand muscle to match its scale. Allwyn is buying marketing discipline from sectors that live and die by it.
Bragg Appointment Reshapes the Board Around Investors
Bragg has appointed Jordan Gnat to its Board of Directors, effective 13 August 2026, on the same day Donald Robertson resigned from the board. Gnat is a senior executive and investor with over 30 years of leadership experience, including more than 20 years in gaming, sports and media. He co-founded and is Managing Partner of Boardwalk Capital, and was previously founder and CEO of Playmaker Capital, sold to Better Collective in February 2024. He has also held senior roles at FOX Bet, The Stars Group and Scientific Games.
One detail carries real weight. Gnat participated in Bragg’s recent private placement and is a shareholder. Non-Executive Chairman Matt Davey welcomed the appointment, pointing to Gnat’s record building and scaling businesses as both an operator and an investor.
This board change lands the same week Bragg posted second-quarter revenue of EUR 22.9m, down 12% year on year, alongside a restructuring drive and the Drayton acquisition. Bringing an investor-operator onto the board during a cost-focused turnaround is not a routine reshuffle. It is a governance move aimed at shareholders watching for signs the business can close the gap between its asset base and its results.
W Macau Appointment Deepens Hospitality Leadership
W Macau at Studio City has appointed Sammy King as General Manager. King brings 38 years of hospitality experience across the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong, along with a connection to the W Hotels brand through his leadership at W Hong Kong.
For the integrated resort segment, hospitality leadership is not a side function. In markets where gaming and non-gaming revenue are increasingly balanced, the general manager of a flagship property shapes the guest experience that drives return visits. King’s appointment reflects how seriously the luxury resort layer of the industry treats service credibility.
Future Outlook for iGaming Appointments and Leadership Hiring
The next two quarters should sharpen this week’s pattern rather than break it. Commercial and partnership roles are likely to keep leading the appointment cycle as platform providers fight to become the default supplier rather than one name on a list. Expect more suppliers to invest visibly in service and field operations, because reliability is becoming a genuine point of competitive separation.
On the corporate side, legal and board appointments tied to transactions and restructuring will bear watching. Companies actively reshaping their balance sheets, as Mohegan and Bragg both are, tend to keep strengthening the functions that govern deals. And as lottery-led and integrated-resort groups such as Allwyn chase global brand consistency, more senior marketing talent will cross in from outside gaming.
