Genius Sports Expands into Prediction Markets with Kalshi Partnership
The headline is a data deal but the real story is the sportsbook integrity model being extended to a financial exchange.
Genius Sports has struck an agreement to provide Kalshi with official data, media and integrity services, the sports-data firm announced on 5 August 2026. Under the deal, Genius will supply the prediction market exchange with real-time official data across its full soccer portfolio, and that data will be used to settle Kalshi’s sports prediction market contracts. It is a modest-looking supplier agreement that says a good deal about where the prediction-market category is heading. It also lands with the company in growth mode, Genius Sports reported 31% revenue growth in Q1 2026, and deals like this are how it keeps that momentum running into adjacent markets.
Why the Genius Sports and Kalshi deal matters now
Prediction markets have moved quickly from the margins to a fast-scaling category, and the question of how contracts on sporting outcomes get settled has become central. Settle on unofficial or delayed data and you invite disputes and doubt; settle on verified official feeds and you get consistency. This deal answers that question directly by making official data the source of truth. For a market segment whose credibility rests on accurate, real-time resolution, the choice of data provider is not a back-office detail, it is the foundation.
What the partnership actually involves
Genius will provide Kalshi with real-time official data across its full soccer portfolio, including the English Premier League, Serie A, Liga MX, Argentine Primera División and French Ligue 1, among others. That data will act as a consistent source of truth to settle Kalshi’s prediction market contracts, which the companies say is designed to enhance transparency and reduce reliance on unofficial or delayed sources. Alongside the data, Kalshi will participate in Genius Sports’ established information-sharing processes, restrict certain market types and enhance visibility. Genius will also support Kalshi’s audience growth through marketing services, including its Legend-owned media properties. Genius Sports describes itself as operating in more than 150 countries and partnering with over 1,000 sports organisations, including the NFL, Premier League, DraftKings, FanDuel and bet365. The Kalshi agreement is not Genius’s first move into this space either, the firm has already lined up soccer data on the prediction-market side, as seen when Liga MX data went live with Polymarket through Genius Sports, pointing to a deliberate pattern rather than a one-off.
The operator read
Here’s the part operators care about. The integrity apparatus that Genius already runs for licensed sportsbooks, information-sharing, market-type restrictions, official settlement data, is travelling with this deal into a financial exchange. As Adam Barrick, Head of Sports Partnerships at Kalshi, put it: “As the prediction market ecosystem continues to expand at a rapid pace, the use of official data and integrity services is more important than ever.” Genius’s Sean Conroy framed the strategic bet plainly: “Prediction markets will scale on a foundation of trusted, fast and accurate data, reliable technology and robust integrity services, and that is exactly where Genius Sports is uniquely positioned.” For a data business, positioning itself as the technology layer under an adjacent, fast-growing category is a logical extension of its core sportsbook franchise.
The caveat worth naming
Prediction markets on sporting outcomes remain a contested regulatory space, particularly in the United States, where the treatment of sports event contracts relative to licensed sports betting is still being worked through. The release does not address that backdrop, and nothing here suggests wrongdoing, but the “integrity” framing is best read against it. It is also worth flagging that terms such as “world’s largest prediction market,” “first regulated exchange for events” and “highest quality data” are the companies’ own descriptions rather than independently verified claims. No deal value, term length or contract volume was disclosed.

What happens next for prediction markets?
The open question is whether this becomes the template for the whole category. Genius says it expects to play a central role as prediction markets develop, and on the evidence of this deal that ambition is credible: owning the settlement-data and integrity layer is a durable position if the category keeps scaling. The tell to watch is whether other data rights holders and leagues follow Genius into servicing prediction markets directly, and how regulators respond as official sports data becomes the settlement backbone for a financial asset class. If that pattern holds, the quiet supplier deals, not the splashy launches, will be where this category’s shape is decided.
