Alex Manning Brings 25+ Years of Fintech & iGaming Expertise from Light & Wonder to LCKY Group

Alex Manning Appointed LCKY Group CTO to Drive Tech Growth | iGaming News Today

LCKY Group has appointed Alex Manning as Group Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This is the company’s first major leadership appointment since its recent rebrand.

The company plans to use his experience to improve its technology and support its growth in regulated online gambling markets, including online casino platforms, while expanding its digital gaming brands internationally.

Strategic technology leadership

Manning brings more than 25 years of experience across fintech, iGaming technology, and online casino platforms, with a career focused on building and scaling gaming technology organisations, modernising iGaming platforms, and delivering digital transformation for gambling operators in complex, regulated gaming environments.

In his new role, Manning will lead LCKY Group’s technology strategy and engineering team at LCKY Group. He will focus on improving product development and making sure the company’s platforms are strong enough to support its growth in international markets.

His appointment comes as LCKY Group looks to strengthen its gaming platform infrastructure, improve the scalability of its online gambling technology stack, and compete more aggressively across regulated casino markets, where compliance technology, responsible gaming tools, and secure payment systems are increasingly important.

Experience in platform transformation

Prior to joining LCKY Group, Manning served as CTO of iGaming at Light & Wonder, where he led a significant transformation of the company’s engineering organisation. The supplier recently outlined its broader strategic momentum ahead of its financial update, as Light & Wonder prepares to report its Q4 and full-year 2025 results.

During his tenure, the technology division moved to a product-led iGaming delivery model, integrating cross-functional gaming development teams, designed to accelerate casino game development cycles, enhance sportsbook platform integration, and support expansion into new regulated betting jurisdictions.

Manning also oversaw the development of several new products and played a key role in supporting Light & Wonder’s broader market expansion strategy during his four years with the business, including initiatives that supported the company’s entry into new regulated markets such as the Philippines after securing approval from PAGCOR.

Supporting international growth

LCKY CEO Richard Brown couldn’t hide his excitement: Manning’s track record in regulated markets and scaling massive tech teams-especially the platforms he built at Light & Wonder, which just posted solid FY2025 momentum in its earnings-makes him perfect for the gig.

“Manning’s leadership and deep understanding of technology platforms in regulated environments will be invaluable as we continue to scale our operations,” Brown said.

As Group CTO, Manning will focus on strengthening engineering operations and building a technology framework capable of supporting the long-term growth ambitions of LCKY Group’s in-house brands. Commenting on his appointment, Manning said his priority will be creating an engineering environment that enables the company’s brands to scale efficiently while continuing to innovate and adapt to evolving market demands.
