ICONIC21 Launches Free Chips as Operators Seek More Flexible Live Casino Retention Tools

ICONIC21 Launches Free Chips for Live Casino Growth | iGaming News Today

ICONIC21 has introduced Free Chips, a new promotional feature aimed at helping operators run more flexible acquisition and retention campaigns across live casino products.

The release comes at a time when operators are under increasing pressure to improve player retention while keeping promotional management simple and scalable. Rather than focusing only on game launches, many suppliers are now investing more heavily in engagement tools that can support long-term player activity.

Free Chips has been built around that shift.

The feature allows operators to allocate customizable bonus amounts across ICONIC21’s live casino portfolio and apply them to different campaign types, player groups, or promotional periods. The system is designed to work alongside existing promotional setups instead of requiring operators to build separate campaign structures from scratch.

According to the company, the goal was to reduce operational friction while giving operators more flexibility in how promotions are delivered.

Built Around Simplicity and Automation

One of the more practical elements of the system is the automated reward flow. Players can see their remaining Free Chips balance and track winnings in real time while using the feature. Once the promotional conditions are completed or the chips are used, winnings are automatically transferred into the player’s main balance.

That process removes several manual steps that often slow down promotional campaigns or create unnecessary support requests.

The feature is also designed to work across different campaign strategies. Operators can use it for onboarding offers, reactivation campaigns, targeted VIP promotions, or wider retention activity depending on their commercial priorities.

Edvardas Sadovskis, Chief Product Officer at ICONIC21, said the company wanted to create a promotional tool that operators could adapt easily without adding extra management complexity behind the scenes.

Part of a Wider Commercial Expansion Strategy

The launch also fits into a much broader expansion phase for ICONIC21.

Over recent months, the company has been increasing both its distribution reach and its focus on operator-facing infrastructure. Earlier this year, ICONIC21 expanded its aggregation footprint through a deal with Lynon, giving operators access to its content portfolio through a single API connection. The agreement focused heavily on simplifying deployment and accelerating market access across multiple operator networks.

At the same time, the supplier has also been pushing further into custom-built casino experiences. Its earlier collaboration with NuxGame focused on helping operators launch more personalised gaming environments with simplified technical integration. The partnership, detailed in reflected growing demand for branded content strategies rather than standardised game libraries.

Taken together, those moves show a company that is gradually positioning itself beyond traditional content supply.

Retention Is Becoming the Bigger Battle

The wider industry context matters here.

Across regulated iGaming markets, operators are dealing with rising acquisition costs, stricter compliance expectations, and increasing competition for player attention. That has shifted more focus toward retention efficiency and lifetime player value rather than pure acquisition volume.

As a result, tools that simplify campaign execution while improving engagement are becoming more commercially important.

For live casino suppliers in particular, that creates an opportunity to move deeper into the operational side of the business. Instead of only supplying tables and game formats, suppliers are increasingly expected to support engagement, campaign management, and player activity over longer periods.

Free Chips appears to be part of that broader transition.

Alongside new live casino releases, RNG titles, dedicated studio products, and the rollout of Arrow Chase, the new feature adds another operational layer to ICONIC21’s growing operator-focused strategy as competition across live casino continues to intensify globally.
