BetMGM Renews NFL Partnership in Canada, Extending Official Sports Betting Partner Status in Ontario and Alberta

BetMGM Renews NFL Partnership in Canada for Ontario, Alberta | iGaming News Today

BetMGM has renewed its partnership with the National Football League, extending its position as an Official Sports Betting Partner of the NFL in Canada. Announced on 22 October 2026, the renewal confirms a one-year extension of a relationship that first began in 2022.

The renewed deal covers the sports betting category across digital and retail channels in Ontario and Alberta, and keeps BetMGM’s access to NFL branding intact heading into the season’s busiest betting windows.

What the BetMGM and NFL Canada renewal covers

The agreement is a one-year extension spanning both digital and retail channels in Ontario and Alberta. Under it, BetMGM continues to use NFL intellectual property, including the NFL shield, team marks and tentpole events such as the Super Bowl, within its marketing campaigns in Canada.

Beyond branding, the partnership provides for integrated marketing activations and premium hospitality experiences tied to the league.

How responsible gambling sits at the centre of the sportsbook deal

Game integrity is described by the league as the foundation of its approach to legalised sports betting. As part of the renewal, BetMGM has agreed to adhere to the NFL’s core integrity policies and responsible gambling initiatives, with both partners committing to keep competition fair and the betting experience safe.

“Protecting the integrity of the game and the wellbeing of our players go hand in hand, and that commitment is at the heart of our renewed partnership with NFL Canada,” said Matt Prevost, Chief Revenue Officer, BetMGM. He added that sports betting must be built on trust, meaning fair competition on the field and a safe, responsible experience for fans who choose to bet.

Gavin Kemp, general manager of NFL Canada, framed the renewal around continuity. “We are pleased to extend our partnership with BetMGM for another year, continuing a relationship that has delivered exciting experiences for fans who engage with the game through betting,” he said, pointing to a shared focus on responsible gaming as the betting landscape evolves.

What BetMGM’s NFL betting offer looks like for Ontario and Alberta players

The renewal complements BetMGM’s existing football product in Canada. NFL fans in Ontario and Alberta can choose from more than 500 betting markets for every game, including anytime touchdown scorer wagers and a wide range of live betting options. Expanded Cash Out capabilities also allow players to settle eligible bets before the final outcome is determined.

On the responsible gambling side, BetMGM points to GameSense, a programme developed and licensed to it by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation and integrated across its mobile and desktop platforms. The company says this gives customers the same GameSense experience offered at MGM Resorts properties, alongside its existing responsible gambling tools.

What does a one-year renewal signal for the regulated gaming market?

The detail worth sitting with is the length of the deal. A one-year extension, rather than a multi-year commitment, keeps both BetMGM and the NFL flexible in a Canadian market that opened to single-event betting only recently and is still settling into shape. For operators, it is a reminder that marquee sponsorship access can be preserved without locking into long terms while provincial markets mature. The takeaway is that in Canada’s regulated gaming space, the willingness to re-sign year on year may matter as much as the size of the deal itself.
