Sportradar Group AG, a global leader in sports data and technology, has received a gaming-related vendor licence from the United Arab Emirates’ General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA). This approval authorises the Switzerland-based company to provide its advanced sports data, integrity monitoring, and betting technology solutions to licensed operators within the UAE.
The development is a key milestone in the UAE’s gradual journey toward establishing a regulated commercial gaming framework. Formed in 2023, the GCGRA is the sole authority responsible for overseeing all forms of commercial gaming and national lotteries in the country. Sportradar’s licensing marks a shift from regulatory preparation to implementation, as international providers begin entering this new, tightly managed market.
For Sportradar, the UAE licence adds another jurisdiction to its growing global portfolio. The company has reported steady growth in 2025, with a 17% increase in first-quarter revenue and continued double-digit performance in Q2. Through partnerships with major sports organisations like UEFA and the NBA, Sportradar delivers cutting-edge data analytics, AI-driven technology, and integrity services designed to maintain fairness and transparency in sports betting.
CEO Carsten Koerl reaffirmed that the company remains focused on aligning its operations with regional compliance requirements while promoting responsible gaming practices. The UAE’s decision to issue vendor licences alongside major gaming projects such as Wynn Al Marjan Island underscores its strategic intent to balance innovation with regulatory control.
Sportradar’s entry into the UAE positions it at the forefront of one of the most closely watched emerging markets in the global gaming industry.
