MONOPOLY Live Goes Real – Evolution Brings the Iconic Game to U.S. Players
Evolution has launched its MONOPOLY Live game show in the U.S., debuting in Connecticut as the supplier extends its branded content strategy into regulated North American markets.
Developed in partnership with Hasbro, the title is one of Evolution’s highest-performing live game shows globally and is now being localised for U.S. distribution through its domestic studio network. The rollout begins from Evolution’s Connecticut studio, with further state launches expected subject to regulatory approval.
Branded game shows shift from novelty to core live casino driver
Game format and mechanics
MONOPOLY Live follows a familiar format within Evolution’s portfolio, combining a live-hosted wheel mechanic with bonus rounds tied to licensed intellectual property. Players place bets on wheel outcomes, while triggered features introduce multiplier-driven gameplay aligned with the MONOPOLY brand.
Commercial value of branded IP
While structurally similar to other game show formats, the commercial value is driven by branding rather than mechanics. Licensed IP titles have consistently demonstrated stronger engagement metrics, including longer session durations, improved cross-sell from slots, and higher retention among casual player segments. For operators, these products increasingly function as a bridge between traditional live table games and slots, often serving as an entry point for lower-intent users.
U.S. rollout tests scalability of premium IP content
North America market context
The U.S. expansion carries strategic weight. In contrast to Europe, where Evolution’s game show vertical is already mature, the North American live casino market remains in a development phase, characterised by limited content depth and fragmented regulatory frameworks.
Scaling challenges and opportunities
Introducing a premium IP title at this stage allows Evolution to establish early leadership in a still-forming category, secure operator integrations with differentiated content, and test the pricing resilience of branded games in a less saturated environment – aligned with its broader global expansion and product innovation strategy outlined in Evolution CEO Martin Carlesund Highlights Global Growth Strategy in 2025 Annual Report.
However, scaling remains dependent on regulatory approvals at the state level and available studio capacity, both of which continue to constrain the pace of live casino growth in the U.S.
Competitive pressure intensifies on live casino differentiation
Supplier competition and positioning
The launch also raises competitive pressure on other suppliers to expand and strengthen their game show portfolios, particularly those lacking access to globally recognised intellectual property.
Shift toward entertainment-led formats
As live casino continues to evolve from table replication toward entertainment-led formats, branded content is becoming a central lever for acquisition, lobby differentiation, and margin optimisation. Evolution’s early deployment of MONOPOLY Live in the U.S. positions it to capture an outsized share of this emerging segment, particularly if operators increasingly prioritise high-engagement formats over commoditised table offerings.
