MGA to Exhibit at SBC Summit Lisbon 2026 for the First Time Under the Make It In Malta Banner

MGA's First SBC Summit Lisbon 2026 Under Make It In Malta | iGaming News Today

The Malta Gaming Authority will exhibit at SBC Summit Lisbon 2026 for the first time, bringing Malta’s gaming ecosystem to one of the industry’s largest international gatherings under the Make It In Malta banner. In an announcement published on 14 September 2026, the regulator confirmed it would appear not as a standalone regulatory presence, but as one part of a wider national offer built around gaming businesses.

Why Malta’s gaming ecosystem is heading to Lisbon

Following its introduction at ICE Barcelona earlier this year, Make It In Malta will now make its SBC Lisbon debut. The banner brings together the MGA, GamingMalta, Identità, Malta Enterprise and Bank of Valletta (BOV) to showcase the ecosystem supporting gaming businesses establishing and operating in Malta.

The concept moves beyond a standalone regulatory presence, reflecting the breadth of services and infrastructure that underpin Malta’s gaming sector.

What the Make It In Malta banner actually involves

Together, the participating entities represent key areas spanning regulation, business and investment support, visa and identity services, and banking. The intent is to give gaming businesses access to support throughout their journey, from establishing a presence in Malta to their ongoing operations and growth.

SBC Summit Lisbon itself takes place from 29 September to 1 October at Feira Internacional de Lisboa, bringing together operators, suppliers, regulators and service providers from across the global gaming sector.

What the joint stand signals for the gaming jurisdiction

The framing is the story here. By repeating a format first used at ICE Barcelona, the MGA is presenting Malta as a complete package rather than a licence in isolation. MGA Chief Executive Officer Charles Mizzi said:

“Our first exhibition at SBC Summit Lisbon gives us another important platform to engage directly with the international gaming community and, crucially, to do so as part of the wider Maltese ecosystem.

“Effective regulation remains at the heart of Malta’s gaming proposition, but the strength of the jurisdiction extends well beyond regulation alone. Over the years, a mature ecosystem of expertise, infrastructure and support services has developed around the sector, supporting businesses at every stage of their journey.

“Through Make It In Malta, we are bringing these different elements together and presenting a fuller picture of what Malta offers to gaming businesses looking to establish, operate and grow from the jurisdiction.”

For operators, the read is straightforward: Malta is competing on the total experience of basing a business there, not on regulation alone.

How gaming businesses can meet Malta’s ecosystem in Lisbon

The Make It In Malta stand will be located in Hall 2, Booth B251, and meetings with the MGA or any of the participating entities can be booked through GamingMalta.

Bringing regulation, investment support, identity services and banking to a single stand gives a gaming business the chance to work through several parts of its Malta setup in one place, with the people responsible for each of them on hand at the same event.

Is the joined-up ecosystem now central to how Malta attracts gaming business?

Throughout SBC Summit Lisbon 2026, representatives from the MGA and participating organisations will engage with industry stakeholders, exchange insights and showcase the different components of Malta’s gaming ecosystem.

Two outings in one year, at ICE Barcelona and now Lisbon, suggest this joined-up approach is becoming a fixed part of how the jurisdiction presents itself to the international market, pairing its regulatory reputation with the wider support structure around it.
