£4.04bn Revenue, 25% Gaming Growth: bet365 Expands Across Global Markets in FY2025

bet365 Reports £4.04bn Revenue in FY2025 | iGaming News Today

Revenue crossed the £4 billion mark, Gaming delivered double-digit growth and bet365 continued expanding into new international markets. The operator’s latest published FY2025 financial results also show how higher investment and business restructuring weighed on profitability, while the accounts disclose that the highest-paid director received £104.0 million during the reporting period.

For the 52-week period ended 30 March 2025, bet365 generated £4.04 billion in revenue, representing 9% year-on-year growth. The latest published financial results also highlight continued momentum across the Gaming business, expansion into multiple new markets, a significant corporate restructuring and a strong financial position, even as higher operating costs reduced earnings during the year.

£4.04bn Revenue Puts Gaming at the Centre of Growth

Gaming delivered bet365’s strongest growth during FY2025, with revenue increasing 25% compared with the previous financial year. The company attributed the improvement to continued enhancements across its casino offering, including the Games Recommendation Engine.

Sports revenue also increased 5%, supported by customer activity during UEFA Euro 2024 and Copa América. Combined, these performances increased Sports and Gaming segment revenue from £3,696.1 million in FY2024 to £4,036.2 million during FY2025, reflecting overall revenue growth during the financial year.

The Profit Story Behind bet365’s Biggest Numbers

While revenue reached a new high, profitability moved lower during the reporting period.

Operating profit from the Sports and Gaming business declined from £396.6 million to £227.6 million, while profit before taxation for the segment fell from £626.6 million to £348.7 million. After accounting for the £10.2 million loss from discontinued operations, combined Group profit before taxation was £338.5 million.

According to the report, administrative expenses increased by £324.7 million following a significant increase in costs associated with entering new locally regulated markets. bet365 also recorded £59.2 million in one-off restructuring and reorganisation costs following its exit from certain markets.

Employee numbers also continued to grow, with the Sports, Gaming and associated support operations employing 10,056 people, compared with 9,145 a year earlier.

Regulatory and Legal Matters Remained in Focus

The report also notes that AUSTRAC initiated an enforcement investigation into Hillside (Australia New Media) Pty Ltd in March 2024 under Australia’s Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act. After engaging KordaMentha, commissioning a further external audit and submitting a remediation plan in February 2025, the Group said AUSTRAC is reviewing the plan and that it remains too early to predict the timing or outcome of the investigation.

The filing also disclosed customer legal claims totalling £30.4 million, primarily relating to Austria and Germany. Of that amount, £2.3 million has been accrued, while no provision has been made for the remaining claims following legal advice because of ongoing uncertainty arising from industry-wide case law and public policy developments.

From Kansas to Brazil: Where bet365 Expanded During FY2025

International expansion remained one of the defining developments of the financial year.

In the United States, bet365 launched operations in Kansas and Maryland, adding to its existing presence in Illinois, Pennsylvania and Tennessee.

Outside the US, the operator expanded into Brazil, Peru and Serbia, continuing its expansion across newly regulated markets.

According to the report, revenue growth was supported by expansion into new locally regulated markets alongside a successful UEFA Euro 2024 tournament, helping offset the impact of an additional trading week included in the previous reporting period.

The Corporate Move That Changed the Group Structure

FY2025 also marked a significant structural change for the business.

On 8 July 2024, bet365 completed the demerger of Stoke City Holdings Limited and its subsidiaries. As a result, ownership of Stoke City Holdings and its businesses transferred to John Coates, separating the football operations from the group’s betting and gaming business.

The demerger was one of the most significant corporate developments during the reporting period.

Beyond Revenue: The Financial Figures Worth Watching

The report also highlights several financial indicators beyond revenue and profit.

At the end of the reporting period, bet365 held £3.10 billion in cash and current asset investments available for future use within the business. The group’s total UK tax contribution reached £481.5 million, compared with £364.0 million in the previous year.

Charitable contributions totalled £137.8 million, including £130.0 million donated to the Denise Coates Foundation. Following the reporting period, bet365 also entered into an agreement to purchase an office building in Denver, Colorado, for US$135 million.

The accounts also disclose total directors’ emoluments of £129.6 million, with the highest-paid director receiving £104.0 million during the reporting period. Separately, directors received £342.4 million in dividends during FY2025.

What Stands Out From bet365’s Latest Published Results

bet365’s FY2025 report presents a business balancing revenue growth with continued investment, international expansion and higher operating costs. Overall, the filing provides a broader view of the group’s operational, financial and regulatory position during the year.
