The Missouri Gaming Commission has taken a significant step toward launching the state’s regulated sports betting market, confirming the approval of nine temporary online sports betting licences. This development marks the culmination of years of political debate and legislative work aimed at bringing legal wagering to the Show Me State.

The approved operators BetMGM, bet365, Caesars Sportsbook, Circa Sports, DraftKings, ESPN BET, Fanatics Sportsbook, FanDuel, and Underdog will now begin preparations to go live when the market officially opens at midnight on December 1. Pre-registration and account funding will be available starting November 17, allowing players to onboard early under the Commission’s regulatory oversight.

The operators represent a diverse mix of partnerships with local entities, including Century Casinos, St. Louis Cardinals, Boyd Gaming, and major Missouri-based casino properties such as Hollywood Casino and Harrah’s Kansas City. These alliances reflect a balance between established gaming institutions and modern online betting technology providers.

Missouri’s sports betting framework is designed to ensure fair play, consumer protection, and compliance with responsible gaming standards. The state has also reserved the right to issue additional retail and online licences in the future, though experts note that market saturation could limit expansion.

With a population of more than six million and neighbouring states already offering regulated betting, Missouri’s launch positions it as a competitive player in the rapidly expanding U.S. sports betting sector. The Commission’s careful regulatory approach signals confidence in a stable, transparent, and sustainable betting environment for operators and players alike.
