Mindway AI and GamScore Partner to Strengthen Player Protection

Mindway AI GamScore Partnership | iGaming News Today

A player-controlled wellbeing tool and an operator-side detection engine agree to work together, and the timing says a lot about where safer gambling is going.

Safer-gambling tech usually forces a choice. Either the player owns the data and picks what to share, or the operator runs the detection and sees the lot. The Mindway AI GamScore partnership, announced on 12 August 2026, bets those two approaches do more together than apart. It’s also the latest in a run of tie-ups from the Danish firm, which recently teamed up with Amelco to strengthen its compliance and licensing reach, a sign of how busy this end of the market has become.

The deal pairs GamScore’s bettor-controlled financial wellbeing platform with Mindway AI’s AI- and neuroscience-based risk detection. One half puts the player in charge. The other hands the operator an early-warning system. Between them, the companies say, operators get a fuller read on player wellbeing.

Why the Mindway AI GamScore partnership matters to operators now

Player protection has moved. What used to be a compliance line is turning into a product decision. The companies put it plainly: as regulations evolve globally, the industry is shifting towards proactive, transparent player protection, less reacting after the harm, more catching it early.

That’s the gap this deal aims at. A tool the player opts into, feeding a system the operator already runs, answers that shift more cleanly than either piece on its own.

What the GamScore and Mindway AI safer gambling deal actually involves

GamScore hands bettors an independent view of their own betting activity. It helps them read their habits and make informed calls. And the company is firm on one point, users stay in control of their data throughout, connecting what they choose and sharing nothing without explicit consent.

Mindway AI supplies the detection layer. Its GameScanner tool, which the company calls a “Virtual Psychologist,” blending AI with human expert assessment, and its Gamalyze gamified self-test are built to spot at-risk or problematic play sooner than a standard questionnaire would. Mindway AI reports its solutions are live in over 73 jurisdictions, including the US, UK, Brazil, Australia and Malta, and detect more than 15.9 million active players monthly. Better Collective A/S is a majority shareholder.

That track record isn’t only about reach. The firm has also secured SOC 2 Type 2 certification, a data-security credential that matters a great deal once a partner is handling sensitive player information at this scale.

The operator read on player protection technology

Here’s the part operators care about. Detection systems catch risk the player never reports. Self-directed tools catch context the operator simply can’t see. Put the two side by side and the blind spot narrows on both fronts, the old weakness of any single safer-gambling tool.

Mark Potter, Chief Responsibility Officer at GamScore, said that “by combining a practical financial wellbeing tool that encourages positive engagement with Mindway AI’s sector-leading behavioural profiling expertise, this partnership can complement existing safer gambling initiatives and promote positive play for all.” Rasmus Kjaergaard, CEO of Mindway AI, framed the operator angle more bluntly, calling it “a vital step forward in building a safer, more sustainable gambling ecosystem.” The read is clear enough, both firms want consent and detection seen as complementary, not rival.

The caveat worth naming

Player-led tools carry one obvious dependency. They only work if players use them. A consent-based wellbeing tracker is worth exactly as much as its uptake, and the companies haven’t shared adoption figures, operator names, or commercial terms. This is a single-source announcement of intent. The mechanics, how the two systems knit together, and how many bettors actually opt in, are still to come.

What’s next for the Mindway AI GamScore partnership

Both companies say joint educational resources and integrated workflows come next. Watch for the first named operator to run the combined stack, and for whether consent-based tooling earns a bigger slot in the safer-gambling mix over the next 6 to 12 months. If player-controlled data starts reading as a compliance asset rather than a nice-to-have, deals shaped like this one won’t be the last.
